Our Purpose
TERADYNE – where experience meets innovation and driving excellence in every connection. We foster an inclusive culture that values diversity, collaboration, and continuous learning, enabling us to deliver scalable, reliable robotics solutions with real‑world customer impact.
Opportunity Overview
At Teradyne Robotics, we are building next-generation simulation platforms to accelerate deployment, reduce post-sales integration time, and enable intelligent fleet optimization. As Tech Lead, Simulation, you will own the architecture and delivery of a scalable simulation product.
This platform will enable agentic zone layout design, multi-agent optimization, and high-fidelity simulation workflows to support customers from pre-sales through deployment and operations.
You will lead a cross-functional team to develop simulation capabilities tightly integrated with robotics software (ROS2), digital twins, and fleet management systems—driving measurable impact on deployment speed, solution quality, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the simulation product vision and architecture focused on reducing integration time and enabling fleet optimization.
- Build and scale multi-agent simulation systems supporting agentic zone layout and coordinated robot behaviors.
- Develop capabilities for:
- Running and validating basic and advanced simulations
- Importing customer models and environments
- Creating custom scenarios and workflows
- Lead development of GPU-accelerated simulations for high-performance and large-scale environments.
- Drive ROS2-based integration for seamless interoperability with real robot systems.
- Design and implement scalable simulation infrastructure (cloud/on-prem hybrid where relevant).
- Enable extensibility through custom plugins, SDKs, and APIs.
- Define and enforce simulation standards, modeling guidelines, and best practices across UR & MiR.
- Work closely with product, application, and customer teams to translate real deployment challenges into simulation capabilities.
- Establish validation frameworks, benchmarks, and KPIs tied to integration time reduction and fleet performance.
- Mentor engineers and provide strong technical leadership across simulation and systems engineering.
All About You
- 7+ years of experience in machine learning, applied AI, or related fields.
- Hands-on experience fine-tuning large language models.
- Experience with digital twins and deployment simulation workflows.
- Exposure to warehouse automation, AMRs, or industrial robotics domains.
- Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and distributed systems.
- Strong software engineering skills (Python, distributed systems familiarity).
- Experience building production ML systems (MLOps, monitoring, deployment).
- Ability to work cross-functionally with product, software, and hardware teams.
- Strong communication skills; comfortable engaging directly with customers and stakeholders.
Education
