Organization & Role

Field Service Engineers in Production Support and Interface Solutions (PSI) will have opportunity to experience a range of activities, which vary week to week and sometimes day to day. You will respond to customer needs remotely or at the customer site to repair down systems. Additionally, will perform regularly scheduled maintenance on Teradyne systems at customer sites.

Site location: Austin, Texas

Responsibilities

Installing and de-installing Automatic Test Equipment (ATE).  Training customers on proper maintenance procedures.  Travel to customer sites that occasionally require plane flights for remote locations in the US.  Displays professionalism, understanding, tact, fairness, and technical knowledge in all internal and external customer interactions.

Provide technical support to customer and field team either on-site or through phone or email. Participate in cost reduction, 

productivity improvement program initiated 

Training customers on proper maintenance procedures 

Travel to customer sites that occasionally require plane flights 

Able to make travel to assist WW teams on an extended period 

Document best practices 

Create proper documentation for all service work completed 

Collect and present service data (board and labor usage, MTBF, etc.) to customer 

Size and quote services 

Displays professionalism, understanding, tact, fairness, and technical knowledge in all internal and external customer interactions 

Achieves specified revenue targets while satisfying customer from instrument repair, installs and PM’s. 

Manage cases, time logs, expenses, and spare parts inventory in a timely and accurate manner. 

During working hours, maintains availability providing prompt communications by phone, email, text and IM.

Basic Qualifications & Skills

PLEASE NOTE: IN THIS ROLE, CANDIDATE MUST BE WILLING AND MUST BE ABLE TO SHOW PROOF OF COVID-19 VACCINATION PER ANY CUSTOMER REQUIREMENT FOR WORKING ONSITE.

Familiarity with DMM, Power Supplies, Frequency Counters. Field service experience is a plus

Apply structured approach to problem solving. 

Sensitive to the needs in communication and effective follow-up till resolution of issues. 

Effective in handling situation in crisis by following applicable Teradyne process (e.g., SPR, flagging PCFD) 

Basic software troubleshooting skills (example: PCFD) 

Self-driven in pursuing technical knowledge related to the job 

Effective in influencing customers, factory, and Sales management with correct and up to date information in his decision 

making and capable of making best decision under situational constraints.

 

Education

College degree or equivalent experience servicing ATE (5 or more years). 

Knowledge of Teradyne tester platforms preferred
