Project Manager - Quality Assurance Manager (AS9100)

Project Manager, Quality Manager (AS9100), this role is in our Military / Aerospace / Defense Business Unit

 

Reports to: Manufacturing Manager

 

We are seeking a skilled Quality Manager with experience in AS9100 to ensure the successful implementation and maintenance of our quality control systems. As a Quality Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that all products and processes meet the requirements set by our customers, regulatory agencies, and industry standards.
 

Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for owning and administering the Quality Management System (QMS) system for the operations group in the Systems Test Group
  • Develop and implement quality control plans and procedures to ensure compliance with AS9100 standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform root cause analysis, develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent re-occurrence of nonconformances.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve process efficiency and reduce waste, including scrap, rework, and inspection time.
  • Develop, maintain, and distribute quality metrics to track performance, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with AS9100 standards, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Work with suppliers to establish quality requirements and ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on quality control procedures, including customer-specific requirements and AS9100 standards.

Basic Qualifications & Skills

 

  • At least 5 years of experience in a Quality Engineering role in a defense or aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of ISO9001 and  AS9100 standards, including auditing experience and familiarity with customer-specific requirements such as DCMA.
  • Familiar with AS5553 and ESD-20.20 standards
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with experience in root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams, customers, and suppliers.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • This role is ITAR / FOUO and therefore requires being a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident.

 

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or related field. OR equivalent experience.
