We’re looking for a talented and experienced engineer for a Principal Electrical Systems Engineer role.  This person will be able to work independently as a technical lead on the Electrical Engineering team.  The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with an impressive technical background. 



  • While working in a cross functional team, independently perform tasks with no supervision, including design and development, testing, and analysis.
  • Lead and manage projects while mentoring other engineers
  • Able to influence the direction of engineering design and architecture
  • Develop system schematics, wiring diagrams, interconnect diagrams, and cable requirements
  • Create formal documentation as an output of tasks including detailed design reports and technical specifications, test plans and reports
  • Present output to senior management and key stakeholders from different departments
  • Work with safety engineer to ensure product can be safety certified for industrial applications
  • Generate and maintain supporting documentation, including drawings, operation and maintenance procedures, test reports, and design reports
  • Clearly communicate status and results of tasks to leads and management. 
  • Debug field and customer issues
  • Travel to business partners, customer sites, and our plant in Georgetown, KY (5%)

Basic Qualifications & Skills

BSEE with 10+ years of experience in the following areas:

  • Technical leadership in life cycle design from prototype to product release to manufacturing and customer support
  • Motor control, sensor feedback systems, and PID loops.
  • DC Power electronics
  • Drawings: Schematics, system architecture, cable drawings, and interconnect diagrams
  • Wiring/Cable/harness design, requirements, and diagrams
  • Expert knowledge with test equipment
  • Noise, EMI/EMC mitigation

Preferred qualifications:


  • Board level and system level circuit design – Digital and Analog
  • Experience with Autonomous Mobile Robots, Industrial Automation, Autonomous Vehicle (Ground or Air)
  • MSEE
