Due to rapid growth AutoGuide is seeking a proactive, motivated, and hands on individual to join our Hardware Engineering team. AutoGuide Mobile Robots is looking to hire a Senior Robotics Hardware Engineer to work onsite in North Reading, MA.  We are looking for a driven engineer with the desire to contribute to the team’s success as well as someone who wants to learn and grow.  Join our team of high performing engineers and take industrial robots to the next level!


  • Develop system design and integration of robotics hardware including motor control hardware, power components, safety system, and sensors.
  • Determine power architecture and budgeting of battery-operated units to support next generation of self-governing vehicles.
  • Expand analog and digital interfaces to communicate with the vehicle’s surroundings.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Electrical Control cabinet and Wire harness design.
  • Independently performs tasks, including design and development, testing, and analysis.
  • Maintains standards of excellence in all product development processes.
  • Participates in brainstorming and design reviews. 
  • Perform root cause analysis and debug issues, as well as perform tests using thorough test methods
  • Generate and maintain supporting documentation, including drawings, operation and maintenance procedures, test reports, and design reports
  • Clearly pass status and results of tasks to leads and management. 

Basic Qualifications & Skills

  • Develop detailed and thorough testing methods

5+ Years’ experience in the following areas:

  • Full lifecycle System design and integration experience
  • Experience with digital and analog circuit design, including ground isolation, component selection.
  • Understanding of PCB and PCA design
  • Electrical Control cabinet design or test experience
  • Wire harness creation.
  • Creation of formal documentation – schematics, wiring diagrams, test plans and reports, design reports.

Additional Experience

  • Experience with EMI mitigation is a plus
  • Experience with motor control, sensor feedback systems, and PID loops.
  • Python coding and/or embedded coding is a plus
  • Experience with Autonomous Mobile Robots, Industrial Automation, Autonomous Vehicle (Ground or Air)
  • Must be able to work onsite in North Reading, MA.
  • Be able to travel to business partners, customer sites, and our plant in Georgetown, KY (10%)


Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline with a minimum 5+ years of experience, Master’s degree in engineering is a plus.
