AutoGuide Mobile Robots (a Teradyne subsidiary) designs, manufactures and installs the most technically advanced autonomous mobile robots (Robotic Forklifts and Tuggers) with one goal in mind: surpassing customers’ expectations. Due to rapid growth AutoGuide is seeking a proactive, motivated, and hands on individual to join our Systems Engineering team.

 

With an expanding portfolio of mobile robots, this position will be instrumental in the launch of our new platforms and has tremendous career opportunities.

AutoGuide Mobile Robots is looking to hire a Senior Robotics Reliability Engineer to work onsite in North Reading, MA. You will take a proactive approach to improve our vehicle quality, and reliability.

 

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Design and implement in lab testing protocols to verify subsystem, and system level reliability our vehicles
  • Create test benches to exercise appropriate subsystems to verify target design life. 
  • Set up and operate our autonomous vehicles to implement test plans
  • Take a proactive approach to identify process deficiencies and implement improvements with our global team.
  • Lead root cause analysis for failures found during testing, document findings, and clearly communicate information to the necessary stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain a meaningful set of KPIs for reliability of units in the field and use these to continuously inform design improvements
  • Develop, plan, and execute comprehensive component, subsystem, and system level hardware reliability models of our vehicles

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Analyze field data on usage and environmental conditions to continuously improve requirement setting and in-lab testing procedures

Basic Qualifications & Skills

 

  • B.S or M.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, Robotics Engineering  or equivalent field and or work experience.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics, use of hand tools, and ability to lift to 40 lbs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for audiences ranging from technicians to senior executives
  • Fundamental knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and materials engineering
  • Experience with networking, electronics, optics/camera calibration

 

5+ years of experience in the following

  • Design and test of electromechanical systems
  • Hands-on approach to the test and debugging of electromechanical systems
  • Experience developing and executing comprehensive test protocols, namely accelerated life testing, ingress protection testing, and impact testing
  • Data analysis of test results including probability and statistical analysis techniques
  • Background in the physics-of-failure and design of experiments
