At AutoGuide Mobile Robots we don’t just work on components and parts, we create choreography for fleets of cooperative mobile robots. Our autonomous mobile robots are custom designed—from the first piece of steel to the last screw—to move around the biggest, most complex factory floors in the world. We’re seeking big-picture thinkers to join our team.

 

As a Sr. SQA Engineer, you will join our global team developing creative and innovative solutions supporting autonomous forklifts in the US and abroad. As part of our team, you will play a key role in our efforts to qualify and manage our autonomous mobile robotic systems. We are looking for an experienced Engineer with an attention to detail and who will be hands-on to ensure customer success.

 

Responsibilities

  • Build, manage, and monitor the infrastructure we use to deploy our software and robotics solutions.
  • Establish test environments, design test plans, develop test case and use case scenarios, and execute the testing process.
  • Develop and evolve the software engineering and operational practices for the unique needs for our robotics solution.
  • Generate metrics to test all aspects of the product/system and develop tools for measuring performance, improving stability, and debugging a complex robotic system.
  • Identify and establish healthy engineering and operational culture and processes.
  • Define and develop an automated testing framework, troubleshoot errors, and streamline the testing procedure.
  • Support Tier 3 product support issues in the field as they relate to quality and reliability.
  • Proactively identify performance and/or reliability issues and work with our global team to resolve across the product line.
  • Help build an amazing engineering team by participating in our hiring process.

Basic Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ years of experience operating and automating production systems.
  • Track record of accelerating developer productivity through improved tooling, automation, and education.
  • Knowledge of C# and Python.
  • New ideas and approaches to actively contribute to our culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Technical knowledge of robotics and software engineering best practices.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and willingness to pick up new languages or technologies (as needed) to solve real problems.
  • Experience in software development and testing.
  • Degree in CS or related experience.
  • Excellent collaborative, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Desire to see robots in real world environments.
  • Comfortable working with a remote, multidisciplinary, global team with the ability to travel as needed.
  • Experience with Test Management Tools and leading testing efforts.

Bonus Points For

  • Deployed client-side software and performing release engineering.
  • Set up and/or scaled developer tooling and CI/CD systems.

Education

  • BS or MS in computer science, computer engineering, or related field from a university or engineering institution.
