Cellular Signaling Software Engineer

Position Summary

 

Overview:


As a Cellular Signaling Software Engineer you will work on 5G NR FR1 & FR2, LTE-Advanced, LTE FDD, LTE TDD, WCDMA & GSM Signaling protocols. Design and develop Cellular Software applications and test/integrate with the latest mobile devices. Ready to travel domestic and international 10%-20% of the time. 


Position is based in Arlington Heights, Illinois.

 

This job requires the individual to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or be tested regularly in order to work in the LitePoint/Teradyne office. 

 

Responsibilities:
Debugging eNB logs analysis, UE analysis, Core Network analysis, clear communication as role needs multiple teams interaction. Responsible for end-to-end performance assurance to ensure company’s 4G and 5G products (DU, RU, CU and AU) are fully compliant with 3GPP requirements.

 

Requirements:
•    Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
•    Minimum 8-10 years experience in developing, debugging, integrating & testing 5G, LTE Protocol Stacks with expertise 
     in Layers 1, 2 & 3. 
•    Knowledge with using QXDM, QCAT with mobile devices preferred. 
•    Debugging eNB logs analysis, UE analysis, Core Network analysis is needed.
•    Must have 4G/5G Call Processing experience with In depth knowledge of RRC, S1-MME, S1-U, X2, RLC, MAC, PHY 
     protocols and understanding of concepts such as Hybrid Beamforming, Massive MIMO, 
     New Waveforms, LTE-NR interworking & co-existence, 5G Numerologies etc. 
•    Experienced and fluent with 3GPP RAN product architecture, familiar with RLC/MAC layer, different types of control 
        channel and traffic channels, network access procedures, power control, handover algorithms,
     QoS types, TDD/FDD modes, HARQ/ARQ concepts, etc. Good understanding of scheduler functionality is beneficial. 
•    Thorough understanding of 3GPP specification for LTE/LTE-A/5G features and Protocols, experience with ongoing
        3GPP Rel-15/16 activities is beneficial. 
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate key technical concepts within organization and in
     customer meetings is preferred.

  •  Must be able to work full-time in Arlington Heights, Ill office

 

 

Programming Skill set:
C, C++, Linux/Unix (CentOS, Ubuntu), Windows OS, Debugging tools.
