Commodity Manager

Position Summary:

The Commodity Manager will focus on the development of commodity strategies and cost-down roadmaps, as well as support of new products for wireless test solutions.  Concurrently, the Commodity Manager will support R&D with new product development sourcing requirements.  The ideal candidate will have manufacturing management experience in order to successfully resolve complex problems with contract manufacturers.

 

This job requires the individual to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or be tested regularly in order to work in the LitePoint/Teradyne office.

Responsibilities:

  • The Commodity Manager will focus on the development of commodity strategies and cost-down roadmaps, as well as support of new products for wireless test solutions
  • Development of commodity strategies and cost down roadmaps, including ability to execute against those plans
  • Procurement experience with high frequency electronic components
  • Coordination with R&D regarding raw material selection and cost negotiation prior to product release
  • Managing changes to the BoMs, build quantity changes and dynamic (short) delivery requirements
  • Management of supply issues with component suppliers and contract manufacturers                                                                                                                                                                           

 

Requirements:

  • Ability to develop strategic commodity and cost reduction plans
  • M.S. in a technical field plus 12-15 years of experience in Supply Chain Management
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with strong logic and analytical problem solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task activities, set priorities, and adhere to schedules in a fast-paced and demanding environment
  • Management of key suppliers and close relationships with Contract Manufacturers
  • Procurement experience with high frequency electronic components
  • Strong analytical skills (i.e. cost modeling, quotation analysis, supplier selection)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Well versed in information technology applications (MS Office applications)
  • Extensive negotiation experience with a proven track record in cost reduction
  • Ability to be innovative in issues related to strategic sourcing, vendor relations, quality assurance and the associated measurement systems
