Senior Revenue Accountant

Organization & Role

LitePoint is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to lead revenue recognition operation. We are looking for someone that works well cross functionally and a creative problem solver with passion for innovation to join our team. This role is a high visibility position, collaborating across the organization to provide valuable information to make critical business decisions. You will provide technical revenue recognition guidance, analyze issues, communicate, and report revenue results.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing, maintaining, and enforcing the Company's revenue recognition policy. Research and develop new positions and interpretations as needed.
  • Be a subject matter expert in revenue recognition accounting and apply knowledge to guide contract negotiations and revenue transactions.
  • Review contracts and terms and conditions. Apply critical thinking to ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance to ASC 606, specifically on hardware/software.
  • Clearly articulates point of view regarding revenue issues and works with stakeholders to develop solution with transparency throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Develop and maintain deferred revenue model, supporting schedules and maintain revenue recognition memo.
  • Update long range deferred revenue forecast once a quarter and review current quarter deferred revenue forecast on a weekly basis.
  • Review of sales orders to ensure proper system transaction, review of billings for accuracy, review of revenue recognition methodology, with a continuous effort to ensure accuracy of revenue recognition.
  • Manage sales certification process. Review certifications and update sales certification log.
  • Lead revenue close process. Prepare journal entries and related account reconciliations while providing analysis for fluctuations.
  • Prepare and review of various revenue reports such as month-end deferred revenue reconciliations and other revenue reports as requested by management.
  • Prepare revenue-related supporting schedules for the preparation of the Company’s 10-Q and 10-K.
  • Own SOX compliance process for revenue-related controls.
  • Challenge the “status quo”. Lead process improvement initiatives to streamline revenue process as business expands and shorten the revenue close cycle.
  • Take on additional duties and ad-hoc projects and activities, including support of quarter close activities outside of revenue accounting.

Basic Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 5 years of revenue recognition working experience. CPA a plus.
  • Strong understanding of the principles of revenue recognition under ASC 606, specifically on hardware/software.
  • Ability to research and understand technical details with ability to interpret and present in non-technical language.
  • Confident, good judgment, energy and personality to work in a dynamic environment cross functionally and across all levels of management.
  • Strong end-to-end process orientation with demonstrated analytical thinking, project management, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Flexibility to work under time constraints and deadlines
  • Must be meticulous, detail oriented, and organized
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently yet cooperatively in a team environment
  • High proficiency in advanced MS Excel including Pivot Tables and V-Lookups
  • Strong working knowledge with ERP systems. Experience with MS Dynamics NAV a plus.
