The key focus of Application Engineer is to assist and advise our Distributors and Integrator Partners in Proof of Concept and commissioning with the objective to deploy and implementation of large mobile robot projects. This responsibility of this role is also to investigate and clarify with key partners and customers if our robots can be applied in specific use cases and layout environment.
Responsibilities
- Analyze applications and customer requirements, and the feasibility in fulfilling the customer needs and/or solving the customer challenges including meeting the desired improvements.
- Provide on-site and/or remote assistance on how to apply MiR robots to operate and improve the operation specifics during pre-sales, proof of concept, commissioning, and scaling phase.
- Help customers and partners to optimize their design in the early stage of the projects through the Design Review process.
- Collaborate with Application Project Managers as well as the internal stakeholders (Sales and Technical Support) as well as external ones (Distributors, System Integrators and End-Customers) to support the successful execution of customer projects.
- Attend one-off, ad-hoc and periodic project meetings as when needed.
- Offer the necessary application and technical advice and feedback as needed.
- Provide feedback to product management, software, and hardware engineering teams to contribute towards continuous product improvement.
Basic Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with planning, commissioning and operation of automation and robotics systems.
- Engineering degree in the field of automation, robotics, mechatronics, software application.
- Understanding of Networking and WiFi is an added advantage.
- Customer facing and relationship interaction and management experience is welcome.
- Competent in complex system analysis.
- Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) (or AGV) application background is preferred.
- Programming experience, e.g., Modbus TCP, REST API, Python.
- Conflict and issue resolution.
- Fleet set-up experience.
