Hardware Engineer ( Mobile Industrial Robots)

Organization & Role

The Teradyne Hardware Engineering team is looking for a highly-motivated, energetic, technically driven Hardware Engineer to focus on the development of hardware systems for products within the Semiconductor Test division. Development occurs in a dynamic and challenging multi-site development environment. This individual will report directly to the Engineering Manager.


 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop high and low-voltage electrical power distribution, communication, and control system harnessing at the schematic and physical level
  • Establish and maintain the design flow for harnessing including connector component library creation and 2D schematic capture 
  • Work closely with PH, US, and Denmark System Electrical Engineers to choose electrical components from system schematics to guide the design of individual harnesses 
  • Collaborate with Mechanical Engineers and Manufacturing engineers to design cable assemblies to determine cable lengths 
  • Create wire run lists
  • Release designs for manufacturing
  • Technical review on Cable Assembly to ensure Teradyne reliability standards are met.
  • Review and ensure required information/details on Cable Assembly Drawings are in place.
  • Submit commodity part requests in Teamcenter for cable assemblies such as connectors, wires, crimps, contacts, receptacles and other related components.
  • Communicate with vendors/manufacturers to get needed information related to cable selection.

Basic Qualifications, Education & Skills Required:

  • A graduate of Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
  • Working Knowledge or Experience in Cable harness/assembly design
  • Can interpret Cable Assembly Drawing information such as wirerun list, fab notes, BOM list, etc.
  • Being familiar with PLM applications, preferably Teamcenter is a plus 
  • With a working knowledge of cable selection and connectors in compliance with reliability standards.
  • Knowledgeable about sensors, relays, and other components related to cable assemblies is a plus
  • Has a high sense of urgency and analytical skills
  • Can interface with different levels within the organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must possess a hands-on practical approach to problem-solving.
  • Able to join once a weeknight Staff Meeting to collaborate with offshore teams
  • Willing to work 9:00am - 5:00pm shift (Philippine Time Zone) Monday to Friday
