Opportunity Overview
As a Junior Hardware Engineer, you will contribute to the development and testing of hardware components for cutting-edge photonics test and measurement systems. This role requires a solid foundation in both analogue and digital circuit design, hands on experience with electronic laboratory equipment (such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, and signal generators), and familiarity with creating automated test scripts. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability and performance of next-generation photonics solutions.

 

  • Contribute to the design and development of advanced photonics test circuits and components.
  • Contribute to testing, debugging, and continuous improvements of our printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) and components.
  • Document PCBA design and testing protocols in our internal documentation system.
  • Maintain a library of components for our electronic computer aided design (e-CAD) process flow and create bills of materials (BOMs) of new PCBAs in our product lifecycle management (PLM) system.
  • Collaborate across functions (Engineering, NPI, Test Systems) to align design with requirements.
  • Collaborate with Production and NPI departments to establish incoming quality control (IQC) and testing protocols for newly designed PCBAs.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience with the design and testing of analogue and/or digital electronic circuits through academic or personal projects, or internships. Experience with e-CAD software (e.g. Altium) and laboratory equipment.
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Matlab).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience with programming languages (C / C++).
  • Experience with version-control tools (Git, SVN)
  • Experience with microcontrollers
