Opportunity Overview

As a Manufacturing Assembly Operator, you will be responsible for the assembly and testing of Quantifi Photonics products in a controlled, cleanroom environment. You will be required to ensure the relevant quality standards are adhered to as well as the product assembled within the required timeframes and budget to ensure On Time Delivery to customers are met.

 

Product Assembly

  • Assemble optical, laser & photonic components using hand tools, fixture, microscopes, BOM’s, SOP’s & drawings.
  • Ensure that product is manufactured using correct tools and documentation.
  • Wear PPE and work in a clean, responsible, and organized manner.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of production, including helping to keep it clean, orderly and tidy.
  • Ensure that product is completed within specified timeframes to meet On time delivery.
  • Proactively contribute to process improvements Escalate any issues encountered immediately to management

 

Material Control

  • Ensure the right materials are available at the right time and place for efficient production.
  • Tracking inventory levels, receiving and organizing parts, reporting shortages or defects, and coordinating with inventory control to avoid delays
  • Unpack & prep required material.
  • Clean & prepare sub – assemblies.
  • Preparation of packaging materials and accessories. Material handling procedures are followed.

 

Quality

  • Manufacturing assembly involves checking parts and finished products to ensure they meet set standards and specifications, following inspection procedures, using measurement tools.
  • Maintain product quality, reduce rework, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Non-conforming material to be uploaded to system with all correct information.
  • IQC & OQC checks (cross checking)
  • Achieve Quality targets

 

General

  • 5S Standard to be followed.
  • H/S incidents to be zero, any incidents to be reported and addressed.
  • Complete timesheets and reports to document your work activities daily.

  • A relevant diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 1–2 years’ experience in an electronics manufacturing or assembly environment
  • Electronics/Mechanics/Functional Testing knowledge
  • Assembly skills of electrical/electronic and mechanical products
  • Use of electro-mechanical tools
  • Ability to interpret technical work instructions
  • SW knowledge – eg, Microsoft Office / G-Suite
