Opportunity Overview:

 

The Opto-Electrical Engineer leads the design, development, and integration of advanced opto-electronic subsystems for automated test platforms. This role combines deep expertise in optical and electrical engineering with strong skills in signal processing and algorithm development to enable precise, high-speed testing of next-generation photonics products. It plays a key part in ensuring test systems are accurate, scalable, and aligned with evolving product performance requirements.

 

  • Design and develop opto-electronic modules and subsystems for test systems, including, but not limited to, high-power lasers, sensitive detectors, and complex optical fiber networks.
  • Implement and optimize signal processing algorithms (DSP) for enhanced test data analysis
  • Collaborate closely with software, hardware, and NPI teams to integrate opto-electrical components into automated test platforms.
  • Conduct thorough testing, troubleshooting, and validation of opto-electronic designs under real-world conditions.
  • Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation and test procedures for opto-electronic subsystems.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Optoelectronics, Photonics, Physics, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of optical and electrical engineering principles, including fibre optics, lasers, photodetectors, and high-speed circuits.
  • Experience with signal processing techniques and digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms.
  • Proficiency in using test and measurement equipment for optical and electrical signals (e.g., oscilloscopes, optical spectrum analysers, bit error rate testers).
  • Solid programming skills (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for data analysis and automation.
  • Pays close attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Tackles problems with creativity and persistence.
  • Adapts quickly to new challenges and changing priorities.
  • Actively seeks to learn and improve skills continuously
