Opportunity Overview
As a Photonics Engineer you will design, develop, test, and contribute to continuous improvement of photonics hardware and optical measurement systems. You will design and assist senior engineers in delivering reliable, manufacturable, and high-quality photonics products. Responsibilities will include:
- Design, prototyping, and characterization of photonics hardware.
- Performing optical and electrical testing.
- Carry out supplier component discussions.
- Collaboration with cross‑functional teams (Engineering, NPI, Software) to support product development.
- Support feasibility assessments and contribute to requirements clarification.
- Participate in analysis of product performance and identify potential improvements.
- Developing calibration procedures and test documentation.
- Building and executing Design Validation Plans.

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Photonics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Fundamental understanding of optics, photonic components, and optical measurement principles.
- Proficiency with laboratory equipment (optical power meters, lasers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and willingness to collaborate within cross-functional teams.
- Experience with optical simulation tools or scripting (Python/Matlab).
- Experience in product development or laboratory research environments.
- Understanding of calibration or validation concepts.
