Organization & Role
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer, Platform Engineering, Agoura Hills CA., to lead a variety of platform product development initiatives for our next generation Semiconductor Testers. In the Platform Engineering Group we focus on developing state of the art industry leading Semiconductor Equipment. This individual will create innovative, but also sound technical solutions to complex engineering problems. They will also identify essential requirements and key technical risks. This individual will work closely with Product Marketing and Systems Engineering to understand customer needs, and with product development teams to implement design solutions for New Product Introduction and High Volume Manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- In this role you will:
• Work under consultive direction towards predetermined mid and long-term goals as a subject matter expert
• Synthesize requirements from multiple market segments and applications
• Develop high-level business objectives into discrete, specific product design requirements
• Consistently lead and collaborate with development teams in key areas such as providing communication clarity, technical guidance, trade-off analysis, project scheduling, and change management
• Effectively collaborate with global supply base to arrive at economically viable solutions
Develop industry leading Platform products based on sound engineering principles that:
• Include scalable electro-mechanical architectures
• Provide signal delivery solutions for precision electro-mechanical mass termination docking systems
• Provide the highest reliability in various thermal operating environments
• Consider end user constraints, cost, and time to market
• Deliver solutions for the latest generation of advanced semiconductor testing
Long-term expectations for this position include:
• Participates and influences the development of long-term technical capability roadmaps to support market changes over time
• Contributes to initiatives throughout the company as a subject matter expert for customer platform considerations, challenges, and solutions
• Routinely creates innovative ideas, intellectual property, technical publications, or presentations
Basic Qualifications & Skills
- This qualified individual will have experience using the following tools:
• SOLIDWORKS for CAD (computer aided design), FEA (finite element analysis), and PDM (product data management)
Must possess the following:
• Initiative, motivation, and drive to bring highly integrated and complex products to market
• Disciplined and methodical engineering rigor and careful attention to detail
• Leadership and communication skills for effective influence with customers, internal teammates, and suppliers worldwide
• Proficiency in fundamentals of machine design: structural analysis, tolerances, precision alignment, actuators, bearings, mechanical properties of materials
• Competency in material selection, manufacturing processes, mechanical fabrication methods, and high density electronics packaging and integration
Education
- Minimum B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field with a minimum 10 years of experience in machine design or semiconductor equipment design
- Experience in developing semiconductor manufacturing and test equipment is a plus
