Teradyne's Nextest division is seeking a Calibration and Diagnostics Engineer II to join our Costa Rica engineering team. This role focuses on developing and supporting calibration, characterization, and diagnostic software for advanced semiconductor memory test systems.

The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on engineering challenges, learning new technologies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex technical problems.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance calibration, characterization, and diagnostic software solutions.
  • Implement new software features and support existing software libraries and applications.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineering teams to validate new designs and collect characterization data.
  • Analyze measurement data to evaluate system performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Support manufacturing and product engineering teams in resolving technical issues.
  • Develop automation tools that improve engineering productivity and product quality.
  • Assist with root-cause analysis for software and hardware-related issues.
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and validation testing.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, test plans, and technical reports.
  • Support new product introduction and sustaining engineering activities.

Minimum job requirements:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
  • English Proficiency.
  • 5 years of experience in
        • Software development
        • C++ programming and understanding of object-oriented design principles.
        • Basic understanding of electronics fundamentals and digital systems.
        • Ability to read hardware schematics and block diagrams.
        • Experience using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, logic analyzers, or similar lab equipment.

 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with semiconductor test equipment or manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with calibration, characterization, or diagnostics applications.
  • Experience using Git or other source-control systems.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, PCIe, or GPIB.
  • Experience with Python, MATLAB, or advanced Excel for automation and data analysis.
  • Exposure to statistical methods, process monitoring, and data analysis techniques.
  • Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams.
