Opportunity Overview

We are looking for an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Intern to support the development and implementation of environmental health and safety programs within the organization. This involves ensuring compliance with safety regulations, promoting a safe workplace culture, and assisting in various EHS activities such as training, assessments, and investigations. The intern will work closely with the EHS team to help identify and mitigate risks, improve safety practices, and contribute to the overall well-being of employees and environmental activities.

This role will have the following responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and implementation of EHS programs and policies.

• Participate in evaluations, hazard/risk assessments for the different regular and contractor’s work.

• Support the EHS team ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies.

• Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external EHS meetings.

• Support accident and incident investigations.
• Develop new and current environmental activities to reinforce the environmental culture inside the company and contractors.
• Work together and maintain excellent interpersonal relationships with internal and external customers.

Minimum job requirements:

• Advanced college student of Environmental Health and Safety related careers, such as Environment, Health and Safety Engineering, Environmental Health or Occupational Health, who has completed all college credits to pursue the professional practice requirement for graduation.
• English Proficiency: verbal and written (intermediate level).
• Spanish: Excellent verbal and written skills (advanced).

Preferred job requirements:

• Knowledge in ISO 14001:2014 Standard requirements and implementation.
• Knowledge in hazard/risk assessments and tracking.
• Knowledge of national and international (OSHA) safety, health, and environmental regulations.

• Excellent time management and organizational skills. Clear understanding of the importance of deadlines.
• Leading or interfacing cross-functional teams across different levels of the organization to solve problems and bring solutions.
