Opportunity Overview

As a Mechanical Designer you will be required to:

  • Work with hardware and mechanical engineers to layout and conceptualize new instrument products.
  • Work with PCB design engineers to develop state of the art PCB assemblies by translating mechanical drawings into Cadence Allegro board symbols.
  • Interface with external resources to create and approve board and instrument mechanical drawings.
  • Develop tools and workflows for mechanical information requests from customer-facing teams.
  • Support the development and design of instrument design files for the semiconductor industry.
  • Launch new instrument products within cross functional engineering and operations teams.

Minimum job requirements:

  • Technical degree in mechanical design discipline OR related field.
  • English Proficiency
  • 3 years of experience in:
      • Mechanical drafting
      • SolidWorks, PDM Works, and AutoCAD
      • Use and application of standard design conventions (ASME Y14.5), theories, concepts, and techniques.
      • Reasoning skills include the manipulation of geometric dimensioning and tolerance analysis (GD&T). 
      • Microsoft Office required. (e.g., Excel, Word, Power Point)

 

 

Preferred job requirements:

  • Mechanical Engineering student or related field
  • Cadence Allegro
  • System and electronics packaging and fabrication knowledge is helpful, including PCB design, fabrication, and assembly.
