As a Network Security Engineer at Teradyne, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and safeguarding our environment against cyber threats. You'll work jointly with peers across IT and the wider organization and with leadership to drive positive change and ensure our network remains secure.

  • Assist, implement, and manage network security solutions, focusing primarily on the Palo Alto stack.
  • Configure and maintain firewall policies, VPNs, and intrusion prevention systems to fortify our network defenses.
  • Proactively monitor security alerts and incidents, swiftly answering to mitigate potential threats detected by our SIEM.
  • Investigate and analyze security incidents and assist cases, providing comprehensive reports and recommendations for remediation.
  • Develop and enforce security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Work jointly with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into our network architecture.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Stay updated on emerging threats and vulnerabilities, keeping our security measures current.
  • Work jointly with IT teams, system administrators, and stakeholders to implement security measures seamlessly.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to internal teams, fostering a security-conscious culture.
  • Participate in compensated on-call duty, typically averaging two weekends per quarter.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Education Required

  • Minimum 3 years of IT experience, with at least one year focused on Network Security.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Network Security Engineer, with expertise in Palo Alto technologies.
  • Strong comprehension of networking protocols, security architecture, and best practices.
  • Experience with additional security tools and technologies (e.g., IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint security, VPN devices) is advantageous.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and cooperation abilities.
  • Certifications such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) are highly desirable.
