Opportunity Overview 

The Teradyne Compute Test Division Engineering team is seeking a hands on first level manager to lead our Minnesota based Embedded Firmware team. Development occurs in a dynamic and challenging multi-site development environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with hardware and software subject matter experts to make complex hardware and software come together into a working system.  

• Manage multiple simultaneous (typically 2-3) Embedded Firmware development projects including: 

• Project planning 

• Schedule/budget tracking 

• Resource management 

• Status reporting to management 

• Technical oversight: code/doc reviews, bug tracking 

• Line management of a ~4-8 member team.  

• Maintain / improve development process / tools. 

• Hands-on system and code architecture, implementation, testing and product integration debug as required. 

• Work with Hardware, Software and Systems engineering to define scalable, high-performance, high-quality, extensible, and maintainable code.

• 2 - 5 years technical line management experience. 

• 5+ years of experience in technical project leadership 

• Experience integrating HW and SW in complex systems. 

• Software coding using C and C++. 

• System integration in Linux environments. 

• Process experience: Peer code reviews, use of CI/CD, automated test systems 

• Understanding and experience with building, deploying and supporting Embedded Linux systems. 

• Development Tools: GIT, JIRA 

• Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills. 

• Solid verbal, written and presentation skills. 

• Experience working in cross-functional teams designing complex systems 

• Commitment to excellence, efficiency, and product quality 

• BS required, advanced degree preferred, in electrical engineering, computer engineering computer science or related technical field from a top university or engineering institution 

• Minimum of 10 years of practical development experience and system integration.
