Opportunity Overview
We are seeking a visionary and execution-focused Country Manager to lead our India operations and drive strategic growth across the country's rapidly evolving semiconductor and electronics manufacturing ecosystem. This is an extremely visible position, with direct exposure up to the CEO level, as Teradyne is committed to growing its presence in India to align with and support the Indian government’s semiconductor vision.
The role is critical to establishing Teradyne’s leadership in semiconductor test equipment, OSAT (Off Shore Assembly and Test) enablement, electronics contract manufacturers, and advanced test automation, aligning with national initiatives like the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), the Design Linked Incentive (DLI) scheme, and state-level incentive programs.
The Country Manager will lead go-to-market strategy and ecosystem development, across foundries, OSATs, and electronic product manufacturing clusters. The role spans engagement in semiconductor test, memory/logic testing, wireless product testing, PCBA validation, and robotics/factory automation, with a high-priority focus on automated test equipment (ATE) for India’s fast-scaling ATMP, OSAT, and Foundry business.
- Semiconductor Test Equipment: Position and grow adoption of ATE systems among foundries, OSATs, memory manufacturers, upcoming startups, and independent test houses.
- Win customer meetings early and frequently to explore newly announced business opportunities and manage long-term customer relationships across multiple stakeholder groups, including procurement, engineering, and executive management.
- Conduct regular account syncs with key stakeholders to stay current on ongoing developments, roadmaps, and expansion plans.
- Support existing global accounts as an extended team member, driving cross-regional collaboration and consistent customer engagement.
- Develop deep partnerships to expand the opportunity funnel by engaging with:

- Government bodies: MeitY, ISM program office, IESA, ISMC, and IDSPS
- ISM-approved project leaders and ecosystem enablers
- State-funded and independent semiconductor project initiatives
- Emerging Indian startups & design houses
- Leading universities and academic institutions to strengthen workforce development and R&D collaboration

- Represent the company at high-impact conferences, industry forums, investment summits, and policy advisory committees to advocate for Teradyne’s test infrastructure as a national capability.
- Work under the guidance of the Country Managing Director and in close collaboration with business unit leaders to define and execute a comprehensive regional strategy that aligns BU, Sales, Service, and Applications objectives. The strategy should incorporate market trends, competitive dynamics, and existing & emerging customer needs to deliver a differentiated go-to-market strategy tailored to the Indian market, with the goal of capturing majority share in the country’s semiconductor ecosystem. This strategy should:

- Define the required resources, including headcount, facilities, demonstration systems, and training infrastructure, with a clear projection of ROI (bookings versus costs).
- Address support requirements from Finance and HR functions to enable successful execution.
- Represent Teradyne in external forums—conferences, panels, summits, and industry discussions—to shape perception and influence key decision-makers.
- Prioritize market share growth among major customers through tailored biz dev and technical engagements.

- Collaborate closely with the sales to support commercial engagement activities, including assisting with pricing strategies, , and facilitating commercial terms that enable sustainable growth.
- Willingness to travel extensively within India and occasional international to drive customer engagement, strengthen strategic relationships, and support Teradyne’s growth objectives.

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or a related technical field; MBA preferred.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi; knowledge of Kannada is a plus.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in semiconductor sales or business development, with at least 5–10 years in a senior management/leadership capacity.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor testing and memory technologies.
- Ideally, well-known and well-connected within the industry and government ecosystem in India.
- Proven ability to lead and integrate cross-functional sales and support organizations, driving business growth in a regional market.
- Demonstrated success in closing large, complex business opportunities and managing long-term post-sales support.
- Extremely comfortable initiating open dialogue for new opportunities, both internally and externally.
