Opportunity Overview

The Assembler is responsible for performing a broad range of electro-mechanical and mechanical assembly operations within the PBT Business Unit. This role works from manufacturing instructions, drawings, visual aids, and established procedures to assemble, inspect, test, and package products while meeting quality, safety, delivery, and productivity objectives.

Assembler is a developing-level contributor role that applies job knowledge and established procedures to complete assigned work, identify routine issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The position requires attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role aligns with a developing level that applies knowledge and problem-solving techniques to resolve routine issues while following established guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform assembly, sub-assembly, and integration of components, assemblies, and finished products according to manufacturing documentation and work instructions.
  • Read and follow assembly drawings, bills of materials, standard operating procedures, and visual work instructions.
  • Conduct in-process inspections to ensure product quality and compliance with specifications.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, fixtures, and manufacturing equipment safely and effectively.
  • Identify and report nonconforming materials, quality concerns, equipment issues, and process deviations.
  • Support troubleshooting of routine assembly issues and assist in implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
  • Follow all ESD, safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement, 5S, lean manufacturing, and productivity initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Materials teams to achieve operational goals.
  • Support training and knowledge sharing activities as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

 

All About You

  • High school diploma, technical vocational certification, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing, assembly, or production experience preferred.
  • Ability to interpret assembly drawings, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience using common hand tools, measuring devices, and assembly equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Basic computer skills for production transactions and documentation.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, and perform repetitive tasks in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Ability to work while following established procedures and guidelines.
