The increasing sophistication and high-performance nature of the Teradyne product line has resulted in a need for a PCB CAD Modeling Engineer who can integrate with hardware engineer design workflows necessary to physically realize complex HV analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit designs. Ensure Teradyne schematic and layout symbol/decal libraries are maintained and effectively utilized support PCB Design tools and processes.

 

Education and Skills Required:

 

  • Understanding of Board Assembly principles as related to CAD Modeling. Secondary degree in engineering a plus (Assoc – Bachelor).
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in PCB layout.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Cadence Allegro Cad tools.
  • Uses Cadence Allegro CAD tools extensively (Allegro 17.2 and above).
  • IPC Certified (a plus)
  • The position reports to the PCB Design Manager in the US with oversight support by the Philippines manager. The role serves as a design function for PCB Design.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Create Component Logical Symbols and Footprints for all components contained within the Teradyne parts library.
  • Develop library structure.
  • Configure library tools for effective and accurate part development.
  • Some travel may be needed for training, and off-site meetings.
  • Work closely with PCB Design teams to resolve DFM/DFT issues.

 

The products produced by Teradyne are dominated by technically sophisticated systems and equipment. Applicants for this position are expected to possess the following qualifications:

 

  • Practical understanding of:
    • PCB design, design processes, fabrication technology
    • Knowledge of leading-edge EDA tools (Cadence Allegro board design and schematic entry preferred. Knowledge of Cadence Librarian, and Valor DFM a plus.)
