Opportunity Overview

We are seeking a Senior Test Engineer for New Product Introduction (NPI) to lead test engineering process transfer, test development readiness, test procedure stabilization, yield monitoring, and quality performance improvement for new product introduction programs.

This role requires a fully qualified, experienced test engineering professional with complete knowledge of semiconductor test principles, system-level troubleshooting, process validation, test data analysis, product transfer, and manufacturing test readiness. The Senior Test Engineer will work independently, assess unusual technical issues, identify failure mechanisms, and develop practical solutions that protect product quality, yield, throughput, cycle time, and customer shipment readiness.

The position will focus on transferring test engineering processes, developing and stabilizing test procedures, maintaining test-related database content, monitoring yield and quality trends, and ensuring test readiness for pilot builds, validation, qualification, and production ramp.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead test engineering readiness activities for assigned NPI programs, including test process transfer, test development support, test procedure release, pilot build support, validation, qualification, and production ramp.

  • Develop, transfer, optimize, and stabilize system test processes, test flows, test procedures, fixtures, test interfaces, and production test methods for new products.

  • Create and maintain test engineering documentation, test procedures, troubleshooting guides, test readiness checklists, database content, and controlled references required for NPI execution.

  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, firmware, test station, fixture, and system-level failures using structured analysis and sound engineering judgment.

  • Monitor test yield, quality performance, failure trends, repeat issues, false failures, retest rates, cycle time, and throughput to identify risks and improvement opportunities.

  • Drive root cause analysis, failure analysis, corrective actions, and preventive actions for test-related issues that affect product quality, reliability, shipment readiness, or production performance.

  • Analyze test data and use statistical or trend-based methods to identify process drift, test coverage gaps, quality escapes, and production readiness risks.

  • Partner with Product Engineering, Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Program Management, and Customer Support to resolve complex test issues.

  • Evaluate incomplete or conflicting technical information, apply judgment, and recommend practical solutions based on quality risk, yield impact, schedule impact, and customer shipment priority.

  • Advise less experienced engineers and cross-functional partners on test methods, troubleshooting approach, data interpretation, and NPI test readiness discipline.

Senior-Level Expectations

  • Applies complete knowledge of test engineering principles, semiconductor test systems, NPI execution, test development, troubleshooting, and manufacturing test readiness.

  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis requires evaluation of technical, quality, yield, throughput, schedule, and customer-impact factors.

  • Develops solutions using limited information, precedent, data analysis, engineering judgment, and practical test experience.

  • Operates independently on day-to-day work and receives general direction on new assignments, with review focused on critical milestones, risk points, and release readiness.

  • Builds effective relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders and can influence teams that may not be familiar with test engineering details.
