Transportation Supervisor
Basic Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that shipments are fulfilled on time and within budget
- Manage the budget for the transportation costs and make recommendations for cost-saving measures.
- Develop and implement transportation policies and procedures to ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company standards.
- Supervise, direct and review Traffic Analysts tasks and responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the organization, staffing, and Transportation Team deliverables and metrics
- Responsible for transportation team data management, analyzing performance, identifying problems, and developing recommendations that support Logistics management
- Collaborate with other functional group on solving problems by considering courses of action within the framework of management's goals and standards.
- Provides and communicates recommendations to management based on initial analysis
- Provide training and development opportunities to team
- Evaluate processes and drive continuous improvement
- Provide assistance in warehouse space utilization by designing facility layouts to achieve maximum storage efficiency
- Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, procedures, and priorities of the organization
- Prepare and present business review reports
- Maintain accurate budget / spending numbers and analysis
- Assist with budget preparation and administration
- Capable in developing and documenting business process and procedures related to global transportation
- Introduce and implement new methods/solutions based on discovered new trends and innovations in Supply Chain
Basic Qualifications, Education, Skills Required:
- Degree in supply chain, business, management, logistics, Industrial engineering or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience managing performance of transportation service providers
- RFQ and negotiation skills
- Excellent knowledge on analytical methods and tools to understand, predict, improve and/or control global logistics transportation operations and processes.
- Previous experience as a supervisor or a similar management position.
- Strong working knowledge of multimodal transportation and management.
- Must be a self starter, detail oriented, able to support and lead multiple projects, possess excellent communication skills, work well with a team, interact with multiple levels and functions with the Logistics organization
- Excellent leadership, organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office , Power BI, Automate, Outlook, etc
- Excellent Problem-solving skills and critical thinking
- Capability to work under pressure and adapt to changing scenarios
