Opportunity Overview

The Senior Commodity Manager leads commodity strategy, supplier management, and cross-functional execution within a dynamic semiconductor manufacturing environment.

This role requires a highly experienced professional who can operate independently, lead teams, and manage complex supply situations while ensuring continuity of supply, cost competitiveness, and operational performance.

  • Develop and execute commodity strategies aligned with business objectives, product roadmaps, and market conditions.
  • Define sourcing direction, including supplier selection, regional footprint, and risk mitigation.
  • Manage strategic supplier relationships, including contract negotiation, pricing, and performance management.
  • Ensure continuity of supply in a cyclical manufacturing environment with evolving demand.
  • Lead cross-functional teams across Engineering, Quality, Operations, NPI, and Planning to address supply, quality, and delivery topics.
  • Resolve complex supply and operational issues using structured problem-solving approaches.
  • Drive continuous improvement across cost, lead time, quality, and supplier performance.
  • Support new product introduction and ensure readiness for production ramp.
  • Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply risks for component commodities, providing insights to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Transition sourcing strategies from development to full-scale production, ensuring scalability and continuity of supply.
  • Partner with Finance to track and report cost savings, supplier performance, and new product development-related expenditures.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in commodity management, sourcing, or supply chain.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and commercial negotiations.
  • Experience working in multi-region or global supply chain environments.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-time-zone environment while managing multiple priorities.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep experience in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing.
  • Technical knowledge of mechanical or related commodities.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, such as Oracle or Rapid Response, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma certification.
