Opportunity Overview
As an Optical Test Student, you will support hands-on electro‑optics testing activities within our Haifa laboratory. This role provides practical experience designing experiments, operating advanced optical test equipment, and analyzing experimental results, while collaborating with both local and U.S.-based engineering teams.
- Conduct electro‑optics experiments in the Haifa laboratory
- Design and execute experiments based on defined test requirements, including coordinating required hardware purchases
- Perform experiments, analyze results, and document findings
- Prepare clear test reports, conclusions, and recommendations
- Operate and maintain laboratory test equipment and measurement procedures
- Design and implement unified software solutions for instrument control (target responsibility)
- Collaborate with and maintain alignment with the U.S. optical laboratory team
- Research and evaluate optical testing methods and best practices
- Support debugging and maintenance of the SiPho tester in Haifa

- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optics, Computer Science, or a related field (3rd year or above)
- Ability to commit at least 15 hours per week
- Programming experience with Python; familiarity with MATLAB and Excel
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to tackle complex technical challenges and develop innovative solutions
- Strong self‑learning capability and technical curiosity
- Proficient English verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to work occasional unconventional hours and attend meetings aligned with U.S. time zones
- Ability to work onsite in the Haifa laboratory environment (limited remote work may be possible)
