Teradyne is seeking a Senior Supply Line Engineer to join our Global Supply Base Management team in Bangkok. This role is responsible for supplier quality, part qualification, EMS factory support, and supplier development across Thailand and the broader ASEAN region. The position requires a hands-on engineer who can solve complex manufacturing and supplier issues, work effectively across cultures, and drive continuous improvement while balancing global standards with local execution realities.

Why Join Teradyne

  • Work in a globally connected team with strong local impact in a growing ASEAN manufacturing hub.
  • Shape supplier capability, quality, and supply continuity across a diverse regional supply base.
  • Gain exposure to complex mechanical and electromechanical technologies in a high-mix, low-volume environment.
  • Be part of a culture that values openness, integrity, collaboration, and customer commitment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Reactive Problem Solving & EMS Factory Support

  • Serve as the primary interface between Teradyne, EMS partners, and assigned suppliers to resolve supplier quality and production issues.
  • Work closely with contract manufacturing resources and internal stakeholders to support analysis, issue investigation, and alignment on supplier quality concerns.
  • Lead containment actions and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to maintain customer shipments while protecting product quality.
  • Review supplier 8D reports, provide feedback, and escalate technical issues to engineering teams when required.
  • Prepare and manage quality documentation such as hold notices, deviations, and related disposition records.
  • Provide on-site support at EMS and supplier locations as needed to ensure timely issue resolution and manufacturing continuity.

2. Part Qualification

  • Lead qualification of mechanical and electromechanical components to ensure compliance with design requirements and product life-cycle expectations.
  • Conduct supplier process audits and review First Article Inspection / First Article Inspection Reports (FAI/FAIR).
  • Use statistical methods and process capability analysis to validate manufacturing readiness and ongoing process control.
  • Assess finish, cosmetic, and workmanship standards to ensure components meet Teradyne expectations.
  • Identify qualification risks early and work with suppliers and internal teams to close capability gaps.

3. Supplier Development & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive supplier performance improvement in quality, delivery, and process capability through structured development plans.
  • Conduct supplier system-level and process-level audits to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Provide feedback to Teradyne stakeholders and supplier management on risks, performance trends, and improvement priorities.
  • Perform regular visits to suppliers in Thailand and, where required, across ASEAN to follow up on proactive improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of corrective actions and ensure sustainable closure of recurring issues.
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with local suppliers while maintaining high technical and quality standards.

All About You

  1. Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
  2. Fluent English communication (written and verbal) is required; additional language skills such as Chinese or Thai are strong advantages.
  3. Strong hands-on experience in fabrication processes is essential, including machining, sheet metal fabrication, tooling, and mechanical assembly.
  4. Solid understanding of mechanical drawings, including tolerances and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
  5. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in design, manufacturing, operations, and/or supplier quality or supplier management.
  6. Good understanding of quality fundamentals and concepts, with the ability to apply them in real manufacturing environments.
  7. Practical experience applying key quality tools, including Control Plan, FMEA, MSA, and structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D.
  8. Exposure to both mechanical and electromechanical components is highly desirable, including cable assemblies, power supplies, pneumatics, molding, and casting processes.
  9. Experience in supplier audit and supplier development is a strong advantage, particularly in driving performance improvement.
  10. Experience in supplier or part qualification processes (for example, FAI/FAIR and process validation) is preferred.
  11. Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments is an advantage, with the ability to manage complexity and variability.

Key Attributes & Working Style

  1. Self-driven and results-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  2. Able to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
