Opportunity Overview
We are growing the Hardware Design Team in Deer Park, IL; and we are looking for an individual that enjoys developing new products and is passionate about converting ideas into reality. In our Hardware Team you will join a culture committed to developing the right products to create value for our customers. The team develops sophisticated High Voltage/Current instrumentation solutions used by leading Power Semiconductor companies to production test their Wide Bandgap devices (SiC and GaN). Therefore, you are expected to possess strong fundamental principles in Electrical/Electronics design, have SW programming experience and simulation skills. You will be responsible to design and test hardware, ensure it is operational and meeting specification requirements.
As a Hardware Engineer, you will be responsible for executing all the engineering activities to design and test hardware elements with a high degree of creativity and quality:
- Use and tailor our design processes and procedures.
- Participate in the definition of HW subsystems and their implementation.
- Develop electronic circuits and their test strategies.
- Participate in design reviews, failure analysis, and requirement specifications.
- Perform simulations, margin analysis and design prototypes for proof concept evaluation.
- Optimize circuit designs for Signal/Power Integrity performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of designs into broader HW and SW systems.
- Drive schematic, define PCB materials, stack up and layout rules for PCB design teams.
- Develop SW test suites for verification of the hardware product.
- Write and maintain documentation on test procedures, data analysis and results.
- Coordinate troubleshooting and investigative efforts toward finding and resolving root-cause.
- Communicate progress, seek design reviews and address feedback.
- Provide on-the-job training and coaching to less experienced engineers.
- Provide training to internal customers.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 7+ years of HW design experience
- Strong knowledge of analog circuit design oriented to power electronics.
- Strong knowledge of SiC/GaN device properties and characteristics.
- Proficient with prototyping, analytical analysis and simulation tools.
- Proficient in schematic capture and PCB layout design.
- Programming experience in C++, and/or C#.
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-geographical team environment and communicate technical information clearly.
- Familiar with energy storage and power delivery design.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
