Power Semiconductor Instrument Architect
Job Summary
Teradyne is looking for a key technical leader and subject matter expert in Wide Bandgap devices (SiC and GaN) who can drive the concept, design, implementation, and customer adoption of new high power and precision ATE instrumentation. You will work with a team of talented marketing and design engineers to extract and synthesize customer needs, and in response develop scalable and innovative solutions for the Power Semiconductor Market. You will be responsible for developing architectures that meet the design objectives, identifying and mitigating technical risks, mentoring junior engineers, and communicating with key stakeholders. The position may be based in Europe, In USA.
Job Responsibilities
- Product Definition for future instrument for the Power Semiconductor market
- Identify key areas of enabling technology investment required to make our product visions a reality.
- Co-Authoring of requirement documents outlining all sub level interactions for an instrument
- Simulation and defense of the product architecture ensuring it’s ready for implementation
- Participation throughout the instrument development process providing guidance for the technical implementation teams
- Clearly articulate design trade-offs available to navigate over constrained design problems.
- Communicate technical readouts to key stakeholders in the organization.
- Attending customer meetings and technical conferences to stay abreast of new technologies and market trends.
Job Qualifications and Skills
- Expertise in the application of Wide Bandgap (WBG) devices in system level applications
- Expertise in WBG device properties and characteristics
- 15+ years of HW design experience.
- Recognized technical contributor in the following subject areas: Analog circuits, Control theory, signal delivery, Mixed Signal Simulation.
- BSEE or equivalent degree
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to describe abstract concepts with clarity to different audiences
- Ability to navigate multiple levels of abstraction efficiently from the technical details to the big picture
- Ability to take a position and set direction with a logical defense given the information available
- Ability and desire to lead teams through complex problem resolution.
