Opportunity  Overview
Teradyne is seeking a versatile and hands-on Lab Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our Israel site. This newly created role combines laboratory management, production operations coordination, customer-specific planning, facilities oversight, contractor management, and support for team management.

The successful candidate will serve as an operational focal point for the site, ensuring laboratory readiness, operational efficiency, quality compliance, and effective support of engineering, pre-production, and customer-related activities.

Key Responsibilities
This position is ideal for a proactive leader with a strong technical and operational background who enjoys working across multiple disciplines and can successfully balance strategic planning with hands-on execution. The individual will play a critical role in building a scalable operational infrastructure that supports business growth while delivering outstanding customer support and operational excellence.

Laboratory & Production Operations Management

• Manage daily laboratory operations and ensure a safe, organized, and efficient working environment.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, tools, inventory, and test assets.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance, calibration, repairs, and upgrades.
• Ensure laboratory readiness to support engineering, product development, customer demonstrations, and production activities.
• Drive capacity planning to support current and future business requirements.
• Manage inventory, spare parts, materials, and operational consumables.
• Lead and coordinate pre-production and engineering manufacturing activities.
• Plan system assignments and operational priorities according to business and customer needs.
• Ensure customer-specific requirements are properly reviewed, communicated, and implemented before production activities are executed.
• Coordinate workflows, resources, and priorities to meet customer commitments and delivery objectives.
• Develop and maintain operational procedures, work instructions, and performance metrics.
• Support the introduction of new products, processes, and operational improvements.
• Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Customer Support teams to resolve operational issues.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, cost optimization, and customer satisfaction.
• Monitor and report operational performance to management by establishing operational KPIs

Contractor Management – Support Team lead

• Support Team Lead to build team capability to support future growth.
• Support contractor recruitment, onboarding, training, and employee development activities.
• Manage relationships with suppliers, contractors, and external service providers.
• Coordinate subcontracted activities in support of laboratory and operational requirements.
• Help organize work schedules, staffing priorities, workload balancing, and resource allocation.
• Provide day-to-day guidance to team members.

• Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with service expectations.
• Support procurement activities related to laboratory operations, facilities, and site services.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.

Facilities & Site Management

• Act as site key contact for facility-related matters.
• Coordinate external vendors, contractors, and workplace service providers.
• Oversee office and laboratory infrastructure, maintenance activities, and workplace services.
• Support workplace improvements, facility expansion projects, and space planning initiatives.
• Ensure business continuity, emergency preparedness, and site security processes are maintained.
  
  

Quality, Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with Teradyne policies, quality standards, customer requirements, and local regulations.
• Maintain operational records, documentation, and audit readiness.
• Partner with Quality and Engineering teams to drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Promote a strong culture of health, safety, environmental responsibility, and operational discipline.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Support operational risk assessments and implement mitigation plans to minimize business disruption.

Qualifications and Skills

• Native-level Hebrew and fluent English are required.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Practical Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in laboratory operations, manufacturing, production, technical services, or operational leadership roles.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams within a technical or operational environment.
• Strong understanding of production planning, workflow management, operational processes, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience working with laboratory equipment, facilities management, suppliers, and quality systems.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on operational execution.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
