Opportunity Overview

Our AC/RF Hardware design group is seeking a highly motivated engineer to join our design team in North Reading, MA. In this role, you will design and release AC and RF solutions consisting of complex instruments. You will integrate across all development functions (Signal Delivery, Mechanical, Systems engineering, Circuit design, Signal Integrity, Project management, etc.) to successfully bring up the new instruments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop RF and AC hardware, including custom PC boards, from baseband signals (0 Hz) up to 110 GHz.
  • Contribute to the development of requirements and design documentation.
  • Plan and execute design verification and characterization processes.
  • Perform vendor selection and management for hardware components.
  • Conduct signal integrity analysis and electromagnetic simulations using tools such as HFSS, Keysight ADS, MATLAB, and CST.
  • Collaborate across functions, including mechanical, systems engineering, and project management teams.
  • Support program management and engineering leadership with technical reports and summary work.
  • Utilize advanced lab instrumentation, including VNAs, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, and RF Power Meters, for testing and validation.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (BSEE) with a strong academic foundation in RF/microwave engineering (e.g., Microwave Engineering, Antennas, Signal Processing).
  • Experience: Relevant experience through internships, co-ops, or school projects in RF design and testing.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Understanding of electromagnetic wave theory and transmission line principles.
    • Proficiency with RF simulation tools such as CST, HFSS, Keysight ADS, or MATLAB.
    • Hands-on experience with RF lab equipment, including VNAs, Spectrum Analyzers, RF Power Meters, and Oscilloscopes.
    • PCB design experience using tools like KiCad or similar software.
    • Programming experience in Python, MATLAB, or C.
  • Soft Skills: Team-oriented, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation: 
The base salary range for this role is $69,300-$111,000. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.  

Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
