Opportunity Overview
The Engineering Technician plays a critical role in supporting engineering development and validation activities within the IST organization. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe, efficient, and operational engineering lab environment while partnering closely with hardware and software engineering teams to support product development, system troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and service engineering lab equipment to ensure optimal performance and availability for development and validation activities.
- Manage the installation and commissioning of new equipment within the engineering lab, coordinating with facilities, logistics, suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Identify, procure, organize, and maintain critical onsite spare parts inventory to minimize equipment downtime and support business continuity.
- Collaborate with software and hardware engineering teams during design validation (DV) activities to support system setup, testing, and issue resolution.
- Partner with software and hardware engineering teams to determine root causes of field and factory issues and support corrective actions.
- Perform preventative maintenance on engineering equipment in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and established maintenance schedules.
- Maintain equipment records, service histories, and maintenance documentation to support equipment reliability and operational excellence.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on laboratory efficiency, equipment uptime, safety, and process optimization.

- Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Mechanical Technology, Engineering Technology, or equivalent combination of education and technical experience.
- 8+ years of experience supporting engineering laboratory equipment, automated test equipment, manufacturing systems, or complex electromechanical equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and improve complex engineering systems.
- Experience leading equipment installation projects and coordinating activities across engineering, facilities, logistics, and external suppliers.
- Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and system-level troubleshooting methodologies.
- Experience supporting engineering development, design validation, and prototype activities.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation, schematics, procedures, and equipment manuals.
- Experience developing and executing preventative maintenance programs and managing critical spare parts inventories.
- Working knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies and structured problem-solving techniques.
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Experience supporting semiconductor, automation, robotics, or automated test environments preferred.

Compensation:
The base salary range for this role is $55,400 to 88,600. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.
Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
