Opportunity Overview

The Applications Manager: Production Board Test is a results-driven leader for Teradynes Production Board Test Applications Engineering team. This role is pivotal in driving customer success, accelerating product adoption, and ensuring Teradyne solutions deliver measurable manufacturing value across assembly test applications.

 

Impact & Opportunity

The Production Board Test Applications Manager will be responsible for driving customer success and accelerating profitable revenue growth through world-class technical execution and applications leadership. This role directly impacts design-in wins, system adoption, customer satisfaction and long term product strategy ensuring that Teradyne’s Production Board Test solutions are deployed effectively to solve current and future manufacturing challenges.

 

The Applications Manager leads the translation of customer manufacturing requirements into robust test strategies, validated solutions, and repeatable applications methodologies. Working closely with Sales, Marketing, Product Development, and Service this role serves as voice of the customer in execution, providing critical feedback to product roadmaps while enabling sales teams with credible technical proofs. Success in this role ensures Teradyne solutions deliver measurable yield improvement, overall manufacturing cost reduction, and time-to-value for customers while scaling application excellence globally.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Applications Strategy & Execution: Define and execute the global applications strategy for Production Board Test, ensuring Teradyne solutions are deployed effectively to support design-ins, system adoption, and long-term revenue growth across target markets including High Performance Computing/AI, Automotive, and EMS/CM/ODM customers. Own and manage the overall applications engineering budget and allocation of applications engineering resources.
  • Customer Solution Leadership: Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Product Development to translate customer manufacturing requirements into robust test strategies, validated application solutions, and repeatable deployment methodologies that deliver measurable yield, cost, and time-to-value improvements.
  • Technical Enablement & Proof Points: Lead the development of application collateral including presentations, white papers, reference test strategies, demonstrations, benchmarks, and best practices. Enable sales teams with credible technical proof points to support competitive evaluations, customer engagements, and strategic account pursuits.
  • Cross Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Development, Sales, Service, and Operations to support roadmap development, new product introductions, application validation, customer escalations, and strategic initiatives that improve customer satisfaction while scaling global execution.
  • Team Leadership & Capability Development: Build, lead, and develop a high performing global applications engineering team. Establish consistent application processes, drive skills development, and ensure adequate coverage and readiness to support current and future market demands.

Required Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Education

  • BS in engineering or related field OR equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of applications engineering or product development experience in the electronics manufacturing equipment industry (Assembly Test preferred)
  • 3+ years of people management experience, preferably in an international setting
  • Strong knowledge of PCB assembly test methodologies including ICT and functional test
  • Strong influence, leadership, analytical, and synthesis skills
  • Ability to travel up to 30%

 

This role requires an extensive amount of integration and visibility across all functions of the business and at all levels.

Compensation: The base salary range for this role is $197,400-$315,800. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.

 

Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
