Opportunity Overview

 

The Manager of the Program Management Team – Defense & Aerospace will lead high‑impact programs supporting military and aerospace customers, ensuring seamless execution across scope, schedule, and cost. This role serves as a strategic integrator, working across engineering, sales, and operations to drive program success and uphold Teradyne’s standards of excellence.

 

Key responsibilities include:
• Lead planning, execution, and closure of complex Defense & Aerospace programs aligned with Teradyne’s program lifecycle framework.
• Collaborate with Sales on proposal development and program capture strategies.
• Conduct detailed contract reviews to assess scope, risk, and deliverables.
• Develop and manage Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), identifying critical paths and mitigating risks.
• Build strong cross‑functional alignment across global teams to ensure cohesive, timely execution.
• Monitor program performance using industry‑standard tools; initiate corrective actions to maintain program health.
• Support scope management processes and communicate impact assessments to stakeholders.
• Deliver concise executive‑level program updates and customer communications.
• Sustain a culture of urgency, accountability, and cross‑functional collaboration.     

• Travel of 10% or less.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive program/project management experience, ideally in Aerospace & Defense or high‑tech.
• Demonstrated success leading complex, multi‑disciplinary programs with full cost/schedule/performance accountability.
• Proven ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams across multiple geographies.
• Proficiency with program management tools, risk reviews, and integrated scheduling (e.g., MS Project).
• Exceptional communication skills with experience presenting to executive audiences.
• Strong ability to use data and information for problem solving.
• Demonstrated success building teams with diverse, complementary talents.
• Understanding of handling and securing ITAR and CUI information.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• MBA or Master’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• PMP or equivalent certification.
• Technical expertise in Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and defense electronics.
• Familiarity with Salesforce, PLM systems, and ERP platforms.
• Experience managing a P&L.
• General management experience.

Compensation

The base salary range for this role is $171,600 – $274,600. This range is a good‑faith estimate; the actual salary will reflect experience, skills, and market conditions.

Incentive Plan: Eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
