Opportunity Overview:
Teradyne’s Defense and Aerospace division is seeking a proactive Manufacturing Engineer to lead process and procedure improvements, drive quality enhancements, and develop training programs that ensure manufacturing excellence. This role is critical in optimizing production efficiency, improving supplier and internal quality, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. You will work closely with operations, design engineers, and management to enhance manufacturing processes that meet the stringent requirements of the Defense and Aerospace industry.
• Lead process and procedure improvements to enhance manufacturing efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure consistency.
• Drive quality improvements internally and with suppliers to meet Defense and Aerospace standards.
• Define and develop manufacturing process specifications and production workflows.
• Implement best practices for production procedures to improve efficiency, repeatability, and compliance.
• Develop manufacturing strategies for both in-house and outsourced production.
• Design and validate manufacturing fixtures, ensuring seamless handoff to high-volume production.
• Conduct capital equipment investment analysis to support production efficiency.
• Determine and implement efficient facility layouts to optimize workflow and productivity.
• Develop and deliver training programs for assembly personnel, ensuring adherence to manufacturing best practices and quality standards.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in the Defense and Aerospace industry.
• Proven experience in leading process and procedure improvements within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong background in driving quality improvements and supplier quality management.
• Experience in developing and implementing training programs for manufacturing personnel.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to process optimization.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and a team player with a strong sense of urgency.
• Ability to work flexibly across global suppliers and time zones.
• Willingness to travel (<10%).
• Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610, IPC 7711/7721).
• Knowledge of ISO and AS9100 standards
