Opportunity Overview

We are currently seeking a NPI Manufacturing Engineer to join our North Reading, MA team. As a NPI Manufacturing Engineer, you will support all facets of new product development through process development, ergonomics, jigs/fixtures and equipment design and tooling.

You will have the opportunity to work directly with operations, design engineers and management to carry out the following.

  • Provide Manufacturing "Design for X” (DFX) through New Product Introduction process at the piece part and assembly levels.
  • Define Assembly Manufacturing process specifications and designs.
  • Participate in prototype builds of assemblies, creating and managing Work instructions and Quality Checklists. 
  • Humanize production equipment though ergonomic and safety considerations.
  • Develop Manufacturing Process Strategy for outsourced and in-house products.
  • Provide capital equipment investment assessment for manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct capacity planning for process resources.
  • Determine facility layouts for effective work flow.
  • Creating and Implementing Engineering Change Notices to update BOMs and drawings.
  • Review and provide feedback to Engineering for component and assembly drawings, as well as BOM structure. 
  • Monitor and drive quality improvement at suppliers and internally.
  • Showcase the ability to troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis. Assisting with Field and Contract manufacturing issues. 
  • Develop and provide training to assembly personnel.
  • Transfer documentation and knowledge to Contract Manufacturer for transition from NPI to sustaining product lifecycle.

  • Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in SolidWorks and CAD applications 
  • Must have logical and mature thinking, organized, team player with a high sense of urgency
  • Must be able to find creative ways to solve problems
  • Recognition of when a problem must be escalated is critical
  • Must be an extremely motivated person
  • Flexible to work with global suppliers with multiple time zones
  • Familiar with IPC standards (IPC-A-600/IPC-A/610/IPC 7711/7721)
  • Familiar with ISO standards
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Position is full-time, on-site (no hybrid)
  • Education:   BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering, or relevant experience

Compensation: 
The base salary range for this role is $96,500 - $141,400. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.  

 

Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
