Opportunity Overview
As an NPI Manufacturing Engineer, you will help bring new electro-mechanical products to life by partnering with cross-functional teams to move designs from concept through successful volume manufacturing. You will gain hands-on experience developing assembly processes, documenting manufacturing methods, supporting tooling and fixture development, and investigating product assembly issues.
Working under the guidance of experienced engineers and using established engineering practices, you will:
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to identify and resolve manufacturing and assembly risks early in the product development cycle.
- Build and evaluate electro-mechanical assemblies to support the development of assembly process flows and manufacturing best practices.
- Create and maintain clear assembly instructions and process documentation for pilot production teams and contract manufacturing partners.
- Support the identification, design, documentation, and qualification of assembly tools and fixtures using established engineering practices.
- Support the investigation of product assembly issues by gathering information, contributing to root-cause analysis, and evaluating corrective actions with cross-functional teams.
- Support the training of our pilot production and contract manufacturing personnel on product assembly methods.
- Work with the NPI team to support the timely transfer of new products to our volume manufacturing partners.
- Contribute to additional NPI and manufacturing engineering projects based on business and program needs.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with a genuine curiosity for how electro-mechanical products are assembled.
- Ability to interpret solid models, bills of material, engineering drawings, and other available design information.
- Foundational ability to design and document parts and assemblies using SolidWorks.
- Basic problem-solving skills and the ability to define and resolve problems using established guidelines.
- Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate and exchange technical information with colleagues, project leaders, and other engineering professionals.
- Experience using Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Ability to work full-time, on-site at our North Reading, Massachusetts Location
- Ability to travel 10% to 25%, depending on project requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Academic, internship, co-op, project, or professional experience related to assembly process flows or product assembly documentation.
- Exposure to the design or development of mechanical tools and assembly fixtures.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks PDM.
- Certified SolidWorks Professional or Certified SolidWorks Professional Academic certification.
We are only considering candidates local to position location or candidates who are willing to relocate at their own expense. We are unable to provide relocation for this position.
Compensation
The base salary range for this role is $65,700.00 to $105,100.00. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.
Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
