New Product Material Planner - New College Graduate

Teradyne needs talented people to drive our new products through fast-paced development cycle! Our Storage Test customers depend on Teradyne to deliver solutions for system-level device testing. You will be managing the New Product Material Planning to transition our new products from prototype to production release in a fast-paced development cycle.  Our Storage Test solutions have a large mechanical content but also include automation and electrical features.  Prototype work is executed on-site in North Reading, MA giving you the opportunity to have hands-on experience for manufactured product.  Transfer of the product to production Low-Cost Region contract manufacturers allows opportunity for integration with overseas suppliers.  System-Level Test solutions are customer device-based, creating continuous new solutions and new products to enable quick customer ramp of semiconductor devices to the market.

 

 

The New Product Material Planner will ensure the material pipeline for new products being developed by engineering.  

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Ability to succeed in a highly agile environment that requires attention to detail while maintaining a broader scope vision
  • Execution of material and product planning, requisitioning material, and resolving critical material shortages
  • Monitoring manufacturing builds and reporting to development and management team for onsite pre-production floor  
  • Working globally with contract manufacturers and suppliers to find sourcing strategy.
  • Implementing change to existing product (Engineering Change Notices), which involves direct communication with suppliers, production floors, and contract manufacturers.
  • Ability to work on cross-functional teams, to communicate with all levels of management, and to work independently.
  • Finding creative ways to resolve problems using project management skills.
  • Ability to recognize when a problem must be escalated is also critical.
     

Basic Qualifications, Experience, & Skills Required:

 

  • 0 to 2 years of experience, Bachelor’s degree required, business or related field preferred.
  • Courses involving supply chain, manufacturing concepts, and MRP/ERP systems.  Experience with any MRP/ERP systems during internships is a bonus
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in completing analysis work in Excel and skilled in PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal and organization skills are a necessity
  • A team player that has a high level of flexibility, and will work toward common goals inter-departmentally and across functions
  • Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking, with the ability to work in a fast-paced setting and manage assignments with tight deadlines from multiple sources
  • Demonstrated proactive planning and leadership skills as well as an ability to envision and implement change (problem identification and solution recommendation, and implementation)
  • Nominal travel is a possibility but not required
  • This position works out of an Office Environment
     

Education:

 

Bachelors degree required, business or related field preferred
