We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Lead Hardware Engineer to join our dynamic and fast-paced team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of both digital and analog circuit design, excellent technical expertise in high-speed interfaces, embedded computer design, and in-depth knowledge of PCB design constraints, including stack-ups and manufacturing processes. This role requires someone who is not only technically proficient but also a strong leader capable of mentoring and guiding a team of less-experienced engineers while ensuring project timelines are met. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving innovation, maintaining team alignment, and reporting progress to upper management.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop digital and analog circuits for cutting-edge applications
- Create and review schematics and ensure proper implementation within project constraints.
- Work on high-speed interfaces, including evaluating signal integrity and ensuring compliance with design standards.
- Develop and implement embedded computer system designs.
- Collaborate with PCB layout engineers to ensure designs meet constraints, including stack-up requirements, impedance control, routing, and manufacturability.
- Provide guidance on PCB fabrication and assembly processes, ensuring designs meet quality and performance standards.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior and mid-level engineers to help them develop their skills, fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, and innovation.
- Take ownership of team deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on time and to a high standard.
- Drive hardware engineering projects in a fast-paced, evolving environment, adapting as priorities shift.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (firmware, software, mechanical) to ensure seamless integration of hardware solutions
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, tools, and methodologies in hardware engineering.
- Proactively identify areas for improvement in design processes and workflows to increase efficiency and quality.

- A minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in hardware design, with a strong emphasis on both digital and analog circuit design.
- Proven experience with high-speed interface design (e.g., PCIe, DDR, USB, Ethernet, etc.) and signal integrity analysis.
- Extensive knowledge of embedded computer systems, including microprocessors, FPGAs, and peripheral integration.
- Strong expertise in PCB design, including constraints, stack-ups, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in schematic entry tools (e.g., Cadence/Allegro, Altium Designer, OrCAD, etc.).
- Familiarity with simulation tools for signal and power integrity analysis.
- Understanding of design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for testability (DFT) principles.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor teams, creating a positive environment.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting to management and collaborating with stakeholders.
Compensation: The base salary range for this role is $141,400-$226,200. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.
Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
