Opportunity Overview

Our reliability engineering team is seeking a highly motivated graduate student to join us as a 2026 co-op student. You will work alongside a very highly qualified global team of engineers and technicians that run our state of the reliability program. You will be doing research and helping analyze industrial vs. commercial grade electrical components for quality and reliability and developing tools that make Teradyne an industry leader in product reliability. This opportunity is primarily focused on electronics systems, products and processes, but will also include electromechanical and mechanical elements in industrial automation systems. In addition to research, you will help conduct testing, analyze data and leverage AI / ML tools to ensure our products meet the highest standards.

 

  • Analyze manufacturer component grading (industrial vs. commercial) and its impact on product and system quality and reliability
  • Modernize reliability data collection, system-level reliability modeling and MTBF estimates using Power BI and AI/ML tools
  • Collaborate with vendors, internal commodity engineers and hardware design engineers to evaluate component reliability
  • Analyze and report reliability data using statistical methods and software tools
  • Document findings, methodologies, and results to support knowledge sharing and future development.
  • Participate in the evaluation and qualification of new technologies for reliability

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a master’s or PhD program in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or a closely related STEM field.
  • Strong foundation in reliability engineering concepts, including Design for Reliability (DFR), and statistical analysis.
  • Experience with reliability data collection, modeling, and analysis using statistical software and tools.
  • Proficiency in programming languages (Python, MATLAB, or similar) for data analysis and automation.
  • Proficiency in VBA scripting, Microsoft power BI, power automate, copilot studio and similar tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a global engineering team.

 

We are only considering candidates local to position location and are unable to provide relocation for this position.

Compensation:
The base hourly range for this role is $25.50-$47.00. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.
