We’re looking for a practical, hands-on Robotics & Physical AI Intern to join our AI Partnerships team in North Reading for Summer 2026.

You’ll work at the intersection of real robot hardware and modern physical AI workflows—building experimental setups, collecting high-quality robot data, and running baseline model training pipelines that support our strategic AI partnerships.

This is a robotics-first role: you will spend significant time working directly with hardware in the lab, while also using Linux and Python tools to transform raw data into training-ready datasets and initiate model training and evaluation runs.

You will contribute directly to real-world robotics deployments and data generation efforts that power next-generation industrial AI systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on robotics & lab execution
  • Mechanically assemble, modify, and maintain robotic workcells, including fixturing, mounting, cable management, and end-effector integration
  • Bring up, test, and troubleshoot sensors and robot subsystems, including basic calibration and validation of repeatability
  • Execute structured robot data-collection runs using defined protocols and scripts
  • Maintain clean, reproducible lab environments and experimental setups
  • Data pipelines & physical AI workflows
  • Use Linux and Python to ingest, clean, synchronize, and package multimodal robot datasets (images, video, robot state, timestamps)
  • Develop simple tools for dataset validation, QA, and visualization
  • Prepare datasets for training workflows, including formatting, filtering, and basic annotation support
  • Launch and monitor model training and evaluation jobs using provided pipelines and tools
  • Collaboration & documentation
  • Work closely with robotics and AI engineers to debug issues and improve data collection workflows
  • Document experimental setups, procedures, datasets, and results to ensure reproducibility
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of lab processes and tooling
