This position is within Teradyne’s Defense and Aerospace division. The Teradyne Software Engineering team is looking for a highly motivated, technically driven Software Engineer to focus on the design, development, test, and maintenance of software on large-scale cross-functional project teams. These projects develop Windows-based tools, applications, and instrument drivers. Help with systems integration projects where software, hardware, and mechanical meets in a turn-key automated test solution delivered to customers.

This position is currently a hybrid position.  However, applicants must be local to the North Reading location and available to work in the office. 

Job responsibilities include software development and maintenance for Teradyne test instrumentation that gets integrated into larger electronic test systems. You will be designing, developing, and maintaining software for digital, bus, optical, and analog test instruments. This is an exciting opportunity to use (and gain) both software and high-level electrical test skills.

•    Design, implementation, test, and deployment of software components

•    Understanding customer requirements and finding solutions that fit within our existing software architecture

•    Develop scalable, high-performance, high-quality, extensible, and maintainable software

•    Work with software verification engineers to devise an effective test strategy

•    Manage runtimes and dependencies of project development guidelines against customer environments

•    High level debug of runtime and compilation failures

•    Source control management

All About You

•    Languages: C/C++, C#, or other similar compiled and interpreted languages

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Systems Engineering, or equivalent work experience is required.   

•    Operating Systems: Windows

•    Development Tools: Visual Studio

•    Experience in hardware control, embedded programming, or operating systems preferred

•    Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills

•    Source control concepts

•    Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

•    Solid presentation skills

•    Commitment to excellence, efficiency, and product quality
