Opportunity Overview

The Software Engineering Co-op will join the Integrated System Test (IST) Embedded Software organization to help improve visibility into product and platform health through data-driven monitoring and analytics. This role offers an opportunity to work with operational logging, dashboard development, reporting, and data analysis while gaining hands-on experience with enterprise tools such as Splunk and embedded hardware systems.

  • Develop and maintain Splunk dashboards that provide actionable insights into system performance, reliability, and operational trends.
  • Build and improve logging and telemetry solutions, including Python-based tools and processes for collecting, transforming, and forwarding data.
  • Collaborate with software and hardware engineers to identify key metrics and reporting requirements.
  • Analyze operational data and generate reports that provide meaningful insights to engineering teams.
  • Partner with team members to learn embedded hardware systems and understand how telemetry and logging data are generated.

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience writing Python code for data analysis, automation, reporting, or software development projects.
  • Knowledge of statistics, data analysis, and data visualization concepts.
  • Experience with modern software practices like version control, automated build and release pipelines, and AI-assisted coding is a plus.
  • Availability to work from our North Reading, Massachusetts office a minimum of three days per week.

 

We are only considering candidates local to position location and are unable to provide relocation for this position.

Compensation:
The base hourly range for this role is $25.50-$47.00. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.
