Software Product Manager

 

 

Position Summary

At Teradyne- the industry leading partner in semiconductor testing- we are seeking a high-energy Software Product Manager to make our products more intuitive and user friendly while supporting our sales team with timely support and collateral to effectively message and position our Software product line. In this critical role, you will manage the deployment and support of our new Software products by crafting customer-centric messaging and activating our Sales teams to delight customers.

 

Impact 

The Software Product Marketing role combines analyses and creativity to identify latent user needs and solve critical customer business problems. The successful candidate will make our products more intuitive and user-friendly, ultimately enhancing our ability to attract and retain customers.

 

In this role, your leadership will directly influence how our customers perceive and experience our Software platform while positioning Teradyne as the preferred user experience amongst semiconductor test vendors. Partnering with a diverse range of semiconductor companies—from agile startups to established global leaders— you’ll have the opportunity to establish broad recognition for Teradyne as a user experience leader.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Vision & Roadmap: Contribute to the definition of our long-term vision. Lead execution of our roadmap including definition, financial justification, release planning, and go-to-market strategy and planning.
  • Value Proposition Development: Collaborate with Sales, Product Development, and the Marketing team to create a compelling value proposition for our Software, tailored to diverse markets including High Performance Computing/AI, Mobility, and Automotive Digital.
  • Marketing & Messaging: Develop and deliver dynamic and compelling messaging and technical differentiation for customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders while ensuring consistency and clarity across all communications
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Marketing, Product Development, Sales, and Operations to drive Software and test infrastructure transitions that maximize market share and enhance customer satisfaction
  • Product Management: Collaborate with Marketing and Product Development teams to own the overall licensing infrastructure, associated business process, individual product licensing structure, and license administration. Own life cycle management of our Software portfolio and associated infrastructure (O/S, companion software), ensuring long-term alignment and seamless technology transitions

 

 

Essential Functions

  • Perform industry and competitive benchmarking
  • Operationalize the software product line strategy
    • Drive marketing efforts to create and maintain the best in class software product line architectures which deliver significant engineering productivity and time to market advantages for our end-customers, working with Product Development to ensure product investments are balanced against development budgets and consistent with division business objectives
    • Deliver cogent Business Requirements to justify and support new product development
    • Develop sharp and compelling marketing messages and software product positioning briefs
    • Conduct concept and usability testing
    • Measure and track new product performance ensuring that penetration, marketshare, customer satisfaction, and ROI objectives are met
  • Lead business process development and implementation in support of our next generation license management infrastructure
    • Guide our forward looking product structures and license entitlement business processes
    • Work closely with configuration management and CRM teams to align existing and future business systems with desired business processes
  • Own software and infrastructure go-to-market planning including identification of lead customers, beta testing, and holistic account migration strategies supported by detailed execution plans
  • Proactively support our customer facing field teams and customers alike throughout roll-out and into general lifecycle management
  • Develop and foster strategic relationships at customers and industry experts which lead to a competitive advantage for Teradyne
  • Actively participate at external conferences and industry forums to both nurture strategic VOC as well as enhance the Teradyne brand

  • BS in engineering or related field OR equivalent experience
  • MBA preferred, or equivalent business management experience
  • Strong influence, leadership, and synthesis skills
  • Prior experience in product management, product marketing, or product ownership with a specific focus on bringing software products to market is preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 20%

 


This role requires an extensive amount of integration and visibility across all functions of the business and at all levels.
