Opportunity Overview
Teradyne is seeking a Senior Director, Hardware Products Engineering to lead the Compute Test Division’s hardware organization and drive the successful delivery of next-generation semiconductor test instrument products. This leader will build and guide a high-performing, multidisciplinary engineering organization spanning instrumentation, hardware product development, signal delivery, calibration and verification, related software development, and product leadership.
Based in Massachusetts and reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, the Senior Director will lead senior leaders and directors across multiple locations within an organization of hundreds of employees. The successful candidate will bring strong technical judgment, experience leading engineering organizations through growth and change, and a demonstrated ability to deliver complex products on schedule while developing strong leaders and teams.
- Lead CTD’s Hardware Products Engineering organization and develop its strategy for ASICs, ASSPs, key technology partnerships, and critical engineering investments.
- Develop and maintain multiyear product and technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives, customer needs, emerging opportunities, and future product generations.
- Build organizational capability by recruiting, coaching, mentoring, and retaining engineering managers, architects, project leaders, and staff while fostering ownership, innovation, execution discipline, and customer focus.
- Ensure predictable execution across the hardware portfolio from concept through production release, with credible plans, clear priorities, appropriate staffing, rigorous technical reviews, and early resolution of technical, schedule, quality, and resource risks.
- Collaborate across Systems Engineering, Software, FPGA, Program Management, Product Management, Operations, NPI, and Supply Chain to align resources and improve architecture, design, simulation, verification, calibration, and product-release practices.
- Partner with executives, customers, suppliers, and technology partners while improving engineering productivity through AI, automation, reuse, data-driven decisions, and disciplined root-cause analysis.

- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
- 15+ years of product development experience, including significant leadership responsibility.
- Proven success leading engineering managers and multidisciplinary hardware organizations.
- Demonstrated track record delivering complex electronic products from concept through production.
- Strong understanding of instrumentation, electronics, embedded systems, verification, and product development processes.
- Experience managing resource plans, organizational growth, and technical execution across multiple concurrent programs.
- Ability to balance strategic planning with operational execution.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, including the ability to coach and guide teams.
- Preferred experience with semiconductor test equipment or instrumentation development.
- Preferred experience in a tier-one corporation known for world-class hardware products and best-practice design methodologies in a rapid product-development environment.
- Preferred experience with high-speed digital, mixed-signal, precision measurement, power delivery, signal delivery, and complex hardware/software systems.
- Preferred experience building and scaling engineering teams through rapid growth and applying AI and automation to engineering productivity.
We are only considering candidates local to Massachusetts and are unable to provide relocation for this position.

Compensation:
The base salary range for this role is $274,900 - $439,500. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.
Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
