Opportunity Overview:
The Teradyne Value Engineering team is looking for a highly-motivated, energetic, technically driven Hardware Engineer to focus on the development of electrical systems for cost-down initiatives within our Semiconductor Test Division. This person will report directly to the Value Engineering manager located at our headquarters in North Reading, MA.
You will work to analyze, understand and develop engineering related designs and in the following state of the art sub-systems:
- Base System – Power Infrastructure and Communication Interface, Calibration
- DC Instruments – including High Density, High Accuracy, High Voltage and Current
- AC Instruments – Including High Performance Audio instruments
All About You:
Responsibilities
- Create electrical designs for instruments to correct engineering defects or as part of cost down initiatives
- Analyze and debug hardware to the component level
- Troubleshoot hardware using System SW Tools
- Drive cost down initiatives and product enhancements
- Evaluate and implement engineering related yield improvements
- Understanding of product development and manufacturing processes
- Conceptualize, select, and present technical solutions to complex and highly integrated electrical engineering problems
- Provide technical guidance, lessons learned, oversight, and support to electrical design staff
- Collaborate with Account Teams, Global Customer Service, Operations and Supply Line Management.
- Small to medium project administration
- Travel to suppliers or engineering sites located throughout the world. Expected travel to be 5% to 10%
Basic Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum of 8 years of Hardware Design Engineering or Hardware Test Development Engineering experience
- Experience with Analog and Digital Circuit design.
- Strong system and component level troubleshooting experience
- Familiarity with C, C++ or Visual Basic
- Strong cross-functional collaboration, organization, and communication skills are required. Able to analyze, understand, and process information quickly.
- Experience collaborating with offshore engineering services companies is desirable
- Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision
- Excellent organizational, communication, and integration skills including the ability to foster and sustain communication between cross-functional groups.
Education
- Education requirements of BSEE or equivalent
