Job Description 

The Senior Talent Management Specialist support the organization as the Talent Management (TM) partner and advisor by actively driving the planning and administration of all talent management, leadership development and team effectiveness programs and practices in collaboration with leaders and other HR professionals. 

 

 

Reporting to the Global Director of Talent Management, this position provides TM implementation support as well as an independent, strategic viewpoint on all TM programs and practices. The position will focus on succession planning, leadership and team development, coaching, assessment, employee engagement and the use of the appropriate talent management, team and leadership tools and practices to lead leaders, teams and organization to drive performance excellence.

 

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Leads the implementation of various talent, leadership and team planning processes, policies and procedures which includes but is not limited to: succession planning, leadership development planning and the annual performance management process.
  • Builds and coaches for effective teams through the effective use of tools, development activities, and surveys to support the leaders in creating an engaged environment.
  • Acts as the organization’s learning organization conscience by advocating practices that improve team effectiveness, systems thinking, personal mastery, employee engagement and continuous improvement.
  • Establish and measure KPIs and benchmark for TM activities.
  • Establish relationship with managers and executives and work with HR BPs and Field to develop and implement processes, programs and systems in support of talent management strategy ensuring superior customer experience, effectiveness, and efficiency.
  • Administers talent management programs and systems according to defined strategy and plan, including the creation and delivery of key deliverables, reports, communications, learning materials, and other support resources.
  • Serves as a key point of contact to the business for talent management programs and technology, addressing questions and requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Champions the leadership development of managers and emerging leaders. 
  • Leads the individual development planning processes for organization (i.e., front line supervisors, mid-managers and senior leaders).      
  • Responsible for managing retention and employee engagement activities.
  • Leads efforts to create behavioral competency models and career pathing.
  • Educates senior leaders on individual development best practices and supports the implementation of career mapping of high potentials and succession plans.
  • Acts as the organization’s TM consultant by guiding the planning and implementation of practices that nurture the development of a continuous improvement organizational climate. 
  • Works with the organization’s leaders to develop organizational strategies that improve functional and business goals.  This may include planning and developing site or functional change management plans, post-survey analysis and action plans (i.e. external and internal surveys), and senior leadership team development (i.e., offsite development programming) that supports the organization’s mission, vision and focus areas.

 

 

Position Specifications

 

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Organizational Development, Business or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 8 to 10 years of experience in HR-related functions that includes management/leadership development and talent review.
  • Global experience
  • Ability to operate independently with minimal direction from manager.
  • Problem solving skills - Comfortable working in an environment in which businesses processes, tools, deadlines etc. are continually evolving
  • Ability to analyze data and create data visualization.
  • Project management experience.
  • Demonstrated orientation to understanding the business and business strategy, and the ability to apply talent management process and tools to support strategic business objectives
  • Demonstrated personal drive and sense of urgency pushing self and others for results; delivers on results despite obstacles.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment and resourceful in overcoming roadblocks.
  • Proven coaching and influencing skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Team player with passion for a talent mindset and driving performance.
